15 buttons! oh my what a challenge the 365 cards is running for the Monday challenge (day #) Yes, you could use them in a button border or really step outside the box and get creative.
Hmm ... lol witch path did I take? The creative outside the box one of course :) The only idea I had in my head when I started this was ‘buttons for flower centres’ and from there things just bloomed.
I love the 3d aspect I ended in achieving and the colours are just so scrumptious that I want to eat them! (Thank Paper Play for the colour inspiration with those oh so yummy little cupcakes! ~ They would not last long in my house!)
I have hot glue gunned the button centres onto the flowers (made from a punch) and then hot glue gunned the flowers onto pipe cleaners (4 green - stems, 1 red -bow and 2 silver -butterflies. It made a gorgeous little bunch and would be perfect to give just as with a little thank you or get well tag hanging from the bow! The bunch was too big for an embellishment to fit nicely on a card (as originally planned) so I made up a quick little flower pot and popped them on the top.
Being only petal flowers and not much weight in the buttons the card actually stands well on it own. I added a middle stand support to give it extra strength anyway and there is heaps of room on the back of the pot to write my message.
The glitter paper for the petals works stunningly well with the buttons and I am calling the yellow centres ones ‘gumdrops’ as they actually do look so alike (maybe that explains why I want to eat my flowers lol). I have also thrown in a photo of my buttons before I glued them on, mainly as they are not the everyday buttons but buttons still :)
Considering I had a day with a teething child attached to my hip all day so I was unable to use ‘sharp objects (aka craft knife) I think I still had a rather constructive day!
Challenges for this little pot are:
