Stitching @ The Crafty Pad

Mornings beautiful peoples :)
It is time for a new challenge at ....

This week the challenge is ...
Stitching - Real or Faux
Well, we all know this is going to be easy for me :$

I don't know how this is possible, but I am still a few cards short for the Christmas list!  Yeah!  Mrs Christmas here should have that base well and truly covered but ahem, seems I am still lacking a few!  So with time somewhat precious at the moment, I am cramming a few of my "must to do's" in with this weeks challenge :)

I called on the Merry Christmas Sentiments from The Crafty Pad Designs again this week!
Honestly, there is a sentiment for everyone and every occasion in this set, they are so handy to have!

I popped some lace behind the distressed sentiment, mounted it on a glittered scalloped circle and jazzed it up with some tiny pearls.

A pearl flourish from Flourish with a Bling some seam binding and a bow with a brad center made up the remainder of the embellishments.

 Side view.

There is really not much to this card, I have used one piece of DP for the whole card, distressed all the edges, added stitching and matted onto Kraft.  For the circle behind the sentiment I gave it a lick of gold and brown glitter for a slight bling look and added the seam binding bow with brad and pearl flourish.

As mentioned I am chasing time with this piece.  I really loved and wanted to play along with The Shabby Tea Room this week, their inspirational pic (below) is just magical and they were calling for neutral colors, ribbon or twine and a sentiment.  So I bounced off their challenge for mojovation :)

We have a wonderful sponsor for you all to play along for!

But, to be in it to win it you have to pop on over to

Christmas @ The Crafty Pad

Mornings beautiful peoples :)
It is time for a new challenge at ....

This week the challenge is one of my favorites!
Christmas is coming!
Well it is folks!  I hate to say it !
I have kind of been telling you all this for nearly the past year lol
So, if you have not made a start on those Christmas cards yet, well what better excuse than this weeks challenge to get in your craft room and play along with us!

We all know 'me' - the girl who loves and lives Christmas all year round!
So I had a ball with this challenge!

I love the Merry Christmas Sentiments Debbie has in the Crafty Pad Designs Shop, and I have yet to print or play with any of them yet... so today I picked the 1st one on the sheet - Snowflake- and got creative with a card and some crackers (bonbons).

Here we go! few photos today - It's a double kinda project!

I also have a tip for you today! - Have you noticed that the Graphic 45 paper on the front of the card is not as vibrant as what the paper actually is or should be?  It is kind of tamed down a little!  This is such a gorgeous print, and I wanted the print! but found it a little too vibrant and was somewhat distracting from the whole card.  I painted on some modge podge and stuck down a sheet of white tissue paper and it took the sharpness off the original paper, still leaving the yummy design and it has given the piece a real 'handmade' quality like vintage feel to it to!

Close up of the sentiment.

Close up of the embellishment goodness!
Side view - You can just see inside the card how bright the original print is.

And 2 homemade crackers / bonbons to go with the card as a set.
Oh la la licious?

I dipped into my new Grahphic 45 papers, love the nutcracker range!  And I have been playing with a new die from the September Amazing Paper Grace set.  I love this die! It looks just like an old fasfioned sweet to me and it goes adoringly beautiful with the G45 papers!   There is some more of that purple ribbon!  Oh My! But that is the last of it and I am kind of disappointed I ran out of it before I got to the bonbons :(  But the set still all matches so I am happy :)

I love this color combo but I do not know what is going on with me and this purple craze!  Anyways, I could not resist adding the stitching, the wood fibers, flower and pins.  It all came together so perfectly and I just love the sentiment and how it carried through all the pieces.  The bonbons have some yummy goodie inside and are filled with a hat, joke, some chocolates and of-course a 'snap' so it can go 'snap'.

We have a super duper sponsor this week for you all to play along for!
Crafty Ribbons has put together this yummy prize pack!
*Pic to follow soon*

Spotlight Technique @ MAWTT

Mornings all!
It is Thursday and that means ...
A new challenge at

Sue is in the Hot Seat this week and the challenge is ...
Spotlight Technique!

Something a little different!
And not something I have ever played with before - could be interesting! lol
So here we go!

I am not sure on the 'offical' rules for this technique.  My understanding of it is to make part(s) of the image standout.  I tried with only 1 spotlight but it was lacking color to me :( so I added another lol (because I can!)  I have also taken my 'spotlights' and given them a dose of Tim Holtzs clear rock candy.  I brought this back in July and still have not played with it so it was about time it saw the light of day and some experimenting was done!

The image has been colored with Spectrum Noirs and is the gorgeous Flowers and watering can (I have edited out the watering can) from the ever fabulous The Crafty Pad Designs.  I do love this image!  It is a great purchase as you can have 3 in 1 images - the image as it is, the flower pot or the watering can!  Love value for money!

Anyways, The Crafty Pad is also sponsoring the challenge this week!

And we have a great prize up for grabs!
So be sure to link up and play along for your chance to win!

And as always, the MAWTT girlies have been up to some crafting fun and have some adorable creations to share with you too so drop by
and have a peaksie at what they have on offer!

Anything Goes @ The Crafty Pad

Mornings beautiful peoples :)
It is time for a new challenge at ....
It's my turn to pick the challenge this week and I pick ...
Anything Goes!
Ohh too simple! for you all lol
This week I was feeling a little ... Purple
And that is not at all like me !!!.
But then again ...
stepping outside the comfort zone seems to be a regular occurrence for me at the moment ... so let's see what fun Mr Mojo and I got up too!

It's purple!  A lot of PURPLE!  And ... I'm actually ok with it :)  Better than ok even, as I have become rather fond of this one and don't want to part with it lol.  I was tinkering on my desk when my fingers made the gorgeous Chair Silhouette  {available from The Crafty Pad Store {here} into a postage stamp and things just followed from there.  The sentiment I generated in MS word and I had to go shopping for some new papers at Raspberry Road Designs to match the delicious ribbon from my September Kit Club from Really Reasonable Ribbons.  I raided my stash for the jewels, the pearl on the bow and the flower (my stash of purple flowers are slowly dwindling down lol )

With no restrictions this week the TCP girls have all created some amazing creations and we would love to share them with you so please do call past and share some love with us at
We would love you to play along with us too!
Being "anything goes" - we do ask you this week to please limit your entries to only 3 per person.

Animals @ The Crafty Pad

Good mornings beautiful peoples :)

It is time for a new challenge at ....
and the challenge this week is .....
Use an animal!

I thought it was about time I stopped stashing my Fancy Pants papers that I treated myself with for my birthday and matched them up with Harry the hedgehog with balloons available from The Crafty Pad Designs {here}

These papers are a little bright for me but they do distress up well with a touch of Tim Holtzs inks :))
I colored Harry with my Spectrum Noirs, and I think I am getting a little better at coloring, but more practice is still needed *me thinks* I had some off cuts of the DP left over and it really seemed a shame to pop them in the scraps basket so I cut up some little banners just to go along the bottom, found the flower all by himself while looking for the twine so he was thrown in too with a wooden button.

We have a great sponsor this week for you all to play along for too!

Promarkers to give away!

You have to be in it too win it!
So come along and link up with us at

New Release @ The Crafty Pad

Mornings beautiful peoples :)

I am sailing in this morning to showcase to you ...
Crafty Pad Designs ...
October New Releases!
And your chance to win these!

Christmas is right around the corner and our lovely boss lady has been busy on the drawing board to help us all cater for the season with THREE gorgeous new images!

First up is Christmas Pine Cones & Holly {here}
Oh la la ! I {love} this image!
And instantly am thinking about Christmas just looking at it!

Next up we have the Christmas Tree Trio! {here}
Loving this fun and hip image too!
This would be a great image to paper pierce!

And last but not least,
We have the Christmas Baubles! - In 3 color sets!

Green and Red Baubles {here}

All gorgeous don't you agree?

So which one captured my heart for the release ?
I fell in love with all of them! but the Gold & Silver Christmas Baubles really took my breath away and inspired me to try my hand at altering / decorating a candle so here we go!

I have tried this in the past and it was an epic fail!  My printer seemed to be too heavy handed and would constantly rip my tissue paper.  I recently brought some crepe paper for another project and a little light bulb went off in my head to try using this instead as it seemed 'less delicate' so ... I did and it worked!  Dear hubby looked at me like I was a looney jumping all over my craft room all ecstatic but hey ho :)

I bling-ed the design up a little by adding some tiny pearls around the snowflake / star border and down the bauble chain.  A touch of gold ribbon wrapped around the base and wella!  I now have a gorgeous candle ready for the Christmas table that is just going to look delightful!

Now ... I know I have taken your breaths away with my little candle lol
