No Stamping @ Christmas Card Challenges

Mornings all :)
It is time again for a new challenge at

This week the challenge is ...
No Stamping
The challenge theme is optional, the only real rule is you must create a new Christmas Holiday, winter or Hanukkah card / creation.

Now, I always get a little muddled with challenges like this.
Is digital stamps still stamping ??? is it after all called a 'stamp'.

So to play this challenge theme totally safe and to really challenge myself, I totally avoided inking up any rubber and my printer.  I have a big ole draw of Rub-On's that are always neglected so now was the prefect time to dust them off and rub them off!

I reached for my new stash of Kraft again for this card.  I have slightly distressed along the edges with some TH Distress inks, added some gorgeous rich red stitching with DMC thread, a touch of ribbon and a bow topped with a handmade button that is embellished with 3 red beads.  The gorgeous pin is handmade and was a gift from my dear friend Debbie from The Crafty Pad for my birthday - I just adore the chain on it!  And the sentiment is a Kaisercraft Rubon from the Tis The Season Collection from my stash.

It is a little C&S for me but I can see this card being made a few more times as Christmas approaches as it is just so pretty and I am so in love with it, and the red and brown combo is just delicious!

As always the girls and I would love if you played along with us at

I look forward to seeing you there!
Thanks for dropping in to see me today :)

#181 Things with Wings @ The Crafty Pad

Good morning Beautiful people!

Sunday has rolled around again and it is time for a new challenge at
The Crafty Pad!

This week it is the delicious Debbi's turn and she has picked a theme that I am sure you are all going to love ...
#181 Things With Wings

I feel like I am repeating myself here but I just could not resist playing with The Crafty Pad's Butterfly and Verse Border set. I just adore this set! It is beautiful and so many ideas flood into my mind when I see it and today I used it for a card.

I just adore the swirly frame (that is a Marinne Design Creatable - LR0016, it is actually a rectangle die but I cut it twice in the bigshot, then cut both frames in half giving me 4 pieces and just cut off some swirls and played around with them around my diecut verse.  If you look real close at the top and bottom of the sides scrolls you can see where they overlap but it still looks good!

Lots of pearls today! The EK Success swirl punch even got a chance to come out and play and the papers, flower and twine are all from my scraps pile.  Feel a little sad at the blue paper down the side as it is the last piece from my last Stampin Up Spree and I just love the design!

Our wonderful sponsor this week is:

Windows @ Christmas Card Challenges

Mornings all :)
It is time for a new challenge at

This week the challenge is ...
Windows
The challenge theme is optional, the only real rule is you must create a new Christmas Holiday, winter or Hanukkah card / creation.
Not going to lie, this one stumped me a little with what to do :$  So I went with something slightly nontraditional window-ey but yet I still managed 2 windows!

Neutral colors for me this week with two heart windows, a small simple flower, homemade pin and a touch of twine.  The large papers are Stampin Up' and the smaller squares are from my scraps stash.  I made this with hubby's card for the year in my mind so I wanted minimal embellishments and masculine with a touch of love-y dove-y.

The girls and I would love if you played along with us at

I look forward to seeing you there!
Thanks for dropping in to see me today :)

Pink, Pearls & Pretty Celebration @ MAWTT

Morning all !

Another Thursday down and it is time for a new challenge at

This week Mau is in the hot seat and she has picked ...
Pink, Pearl & Pretty Celebration
Ooohhh pink, pearls and pretty! This girl CAN DO!

I made an ornament specifically for my Valentines decor tree but I am hopping I will get double use of out this baby and hang it for Christmas as well :))  I have not told hubby yet but I plan on buying a small white tree to place 'around' the house' so I can have a touch of a pink and white Christmas somewhere.  For the moment he is on a need to know basis and he don't need to know lol

I started with a Marianne Creatables heat die for the base, covered it with some pretty pink DP from my scraps stash, added two rows of lace behind in the pink and white.  The flowers are homemade from silk with some beads sewn into the centers to match the homemade bead sprays and the sentiment is from Kaisercrafts - Homemade Clear Stamps - love ticket that I cut up to make look like scrabble tiles. The butterflies are from an EK Success butterfly border punch and as per my usual, to finish everything off, there is a touch or two of TH Distress inks and a few extra pearls.

is our great sponsor this week with a great prize up for grabs.
As always the
girls have some stunning creations to share with you all
so please do drop by and see them and share some love :)

Emboss Resist @ Christmas Card Challenges

Mornings all :)
It is time again for a new challenge at

This week the challenge is ...
Emboss Resist
The challenge theme is optional, the only real rule is you must create a new Christmas Holiday, winter or Hanukkah card / creation.
Emboss resist is a technique that I not do very often at all!  I had several failed attempts at this and finally managed to get something together that I liked!

Keeping with tradition I have been playing with my TH Distress inks as always.  I finally found a place on the www in Australia that stocks the real KRAFT! So when Mr postman delivered my parcel this week I was itching to have a play it!  The flourish stamp is actually a foam stamp from a set given to me by a friend when she cleaned out her stashed, sadly there is no info on the box of who is it made buy but it is great to finally use it.  The twine is also a newbie for me and is from The Twinery and it's the Cappuccino color that I have also used for the stitching (I've been doing little shopping lately lol).  The sentiment is a Kaisercraft Rub On from the Be Merry collection (I don't know about you but I have heaps of Run On's that I have never used as they are just so pretty!) and the pearls and bells are from my stash.

As always the girls and I would love if you played along with us at

I look forward to seeing you there!
Thanks for dropping in to see me today :)

#179 Paper Piecing @ The Crafty Pad

Good Morning Crafty Folks!
It is time for a new challenge at ....
***EDIT*** please note Mr Blogger has been naughty and has posted this post 12 hours before the challenge has gone live at The Crafty Pad - So sorry :$

So without further ado, lets gets to this weeks fun challenge
picked by our lovely Ms Ali!

She would love to see
#179 Paper Piecing

I have loads of photos today so I will not bore you with a long worded post lol
I used the adorable Butterfly and Verse Set available from the The Crafty Pad Designs Store
The verse alone is magical and when mixed with the butterflies turned into embellishments it is just LUSH!
I was in the mood for something really pretty so I made a handbag card and there is even a little gift inside especially for a very dear crafty friends birthday coming up soon!

Paper pieced butterfly embellishment made from the butterflies in the Butterfly and Verse Set

The clasp is left over from a alteration I made to a tea chest.

Yes that is 34 panels of hand stitching!   Gee do I obsess much???

Another little butterfly embellishment!

A little gift to sit inside - A selection of handmade pins and some blanks so they can make their own too.

My daughter calls this a wedding cake, it looks adorable and good enough to eat lol !

The gift sits nicely inside ontop of the verse and is easily removed.

And lastly the set together.

I raided lots of bits from my stash for this, the bag clasp was left over from an altered tea chest, the lace on the front of the bag was an off-cut left over, along with the trim used on the pin holder.  The flowers are Kaiser and they were also left over from another project.  To make the butterflies more wispy and magical they are sitting on some wood fibers and there is a lots of pearls and some homemade posh pins used for the butterfly antenna's.

We have a fabulous sponsor prize for you all to play along for this week!
 has kindly given us
a £20 voucher to spend in their store
to one lucky random winner!
