Stitching Real or Faux @ Crafty Ann's Challenge

Good morning folks!

It's time for a new challenge over at

This week it would have to be my all time favorite
Stitching - Real or Faux

It would have to be a rare day for me not to get out the old needle and thread on a card so it wasn't a hard challenge, but, it was FUN! and that is what it is all about :)

Today I have had a play with the gorgeous Crafty Ann's Sewing Sheet (you can find it HERE), from the sheet I used the sweet embroidery hoop with flower.  While I added stitching to my card I also stitched the flower design and added a little bead for the flower center.

As always we have a fab prize for one lucky person who plays along with us this fortnight.
Your choice from
You could win -
2 digi stamps, 1 pre-coloured sheet and 1 backing paper collection.

We would love to have you play along with us this week, so pop on over to Crafty Ann's and link up your creations.  The CA girls have all done some sew lovely samples for you too peak at too!

Anything gardening @ Moving Along With The Times

Too Cold Thursday to you all!

Wow the temperature down here in Oz is really starting to scream Winter!
Of a evening the kids and I are even starting to tuck the vegetable patch in (we cover it with a mozie net to help keep the frost off everything) and the kids think it is so funny to say 'night night' and tuck the vegies in lol

Talking about the garden!
That reminds me of  Mau 's challenge for us this week over at
Moving Along With The Times

It is Mau's turn this week and she has chosen ....
Garden / Flowers
anything to do with the garden

So what's in my garden this week? Frost and that is as good as snowflakes.  And pigeons, and they are nearly as good as doves.  Snow and doves screams Christmas to me so it is the way my garden grew this week :)) Can tell you this, I'm crossing a lot off my 'cards / must to do list' for Christmas so it is all worth it :))  I am also one of 'those' who loves Christmas whatever the time of the year.  If I had my way I would have Christmas decorations up all year long; hubby however doesn't agree with me on that one :$

So it is another Christmas card for me this week :))
And this one is extra special as it is for Granny and Poppy :)
No need to blank them out on this one as they wouldn't know how to turn a computer on to be subject to sneaky peaks lol

This week we have all been playing with Stitchy Bear Stamps!
I pulled from my stash one that I have been dying to use on a Christmas card.
Delicious Doodles - Lovey Dovey Silhouette available from
Stitchy Bears Stamps
Stitchy Bear Stamps is also sponsoring us for this challenge!
Thank you!
This is a fantastic prize as they have so many images!

To have your chance of winning this prize,
You gotta play along with us!

The girls all have some lovely gardens this week too
and you can check them all out over at

Homemade Love scrapbook page

Morning sweet friends :)

Feeling a little tired today as we were up at 4 and I was naughty and stayed up and watched a movie that didn't finish till just after 11 last night, so I am really feeling worse for wear today but it was self inflicted so no sympathy lol.

I wanted to quickly share with you a scrapbook page I made over the weekend.  Being it is still so chilly here and the heater is in the family / dinning room I moved myself out there over the weekend and took over the dining room table with my scrapbooking (it is the best place in the house to scrapbook as the room you have to spread all your things out is just so spacious lol)  We have an 8 seater dining room table so you can imagine the room!

Anyway, I finished my page last night while watching the movie and I had to tidy my mess up this morning before my gremlin little girls got to any of my stash.  They are like those birds that have a natural attraction to anything blue and steal it and hoard it in their nests, though my girls go for anything blingy and my flowers and I will it find my stuff hidden in their bedrooms somewhere :$

I scrapped my favorite photo of Emilie and Ben at the moment, a shot in the early hours of the morning of her 2nd Birthday, right before Daddy was heading to work for a 48 hour shift :(  I don't share many of my scrap pages and I really don't know why, but something else to add to my to do more of list.

I was going for masculine yet still a feminine look, I feel I achieved it.  There is lots of Kaisercraft in this piece, as I also tried something new with trying to limit my products to just one company so everything here is from my stash and all over 6 months old! My gosh that is sad and bad, I have too much stuff if things can sit for that long! I usually just grab what I have, what I like, what's spinning in my head and go with what supplies I have gathered, so this was an interesting challenge in itself for me and it was a fun one.

So, through in a DT card or 2 for this week and well that was my weekend.  Hope you all had a lovely one too.   Thanks for dropping into see me today :))

Sunny Side Up!

Finally Sunday has lived up to its name and has brought the sun out! Yay!
I have been waiting all weekend for the weather to clear up to take some photos of this card.
So with out any further ado ... On with the show.

With the miserable and cold weather we have been having I really felt like something bright, cheery and sunny and as I am soo in love with these Country Home papers from  Raspberry Road I just could not resist playing with them.  Threw in a Prima flower & vine squiggly from my stash, the lace from Nana's box along with the too gorgeous sparkly ribbon, a bit of stitching around the edges and hit it all with some TH Distress inks and voila! I was happy I didn't go do the housework :))

I love these papers so I really did not want to cover them with heaps of embellishments so this is a little C&S for me but I am soo in love with it that I really don't mind lol .

Thanks for dropping into see me today :))

#167 Live on the edge @ The Crafty Pad

Sweet Sunday folks :)

It is time for a new challenge at
and this week it is all about
We would like you to add some fancy edging or
go out and off the edge with your embellishments.
Too easy! So please do come and have a play with us :))

If you go for a peak around here there is not much in the way of purple in my creations :$  I don't know why, just the 2 of us never seem to be able to play nice and agree.  But as part of tackling the news years resolutions of stepping out of the comfort zone more, it did lead me to today's card.

My soft spot of silhouettes lead me to The Crafty Pad Designs - Lady Stitching Silhouette and with a little editing help from Paint.net combined it with the circular Crafty Pad Designs - Sewing Sentiments Ticket.

I had a play with some white paint on the DP - something that has been on my to try list for a while and I rather like the effect of the paint spots and splatters.  The 2 purple buttons are from Nana's button tin along the purple lace and trim dug out from Nana's craft box.  The shape and the layer were cut from my Silhouette Cameo originally from a layered decorative circle that I cut and edited.

This week Creative Craft World has kindly sponsored the challenge :)
To one lucky random winner they will receive ...
£5 voucher to spend in their shop.

The TCP Team B Girls have all done a
marvelous job with this challenge so please do stop by
Check out their works and share some love with them.
We would love you all to play along with us too!

Doing the Jingle Bell Rock!

Morning Folks :)

I have some gorgeous new stuff in my crafty stash and don't fall off your chair when I say this; but it is actually compliments to my dearest hubby!  Last week I sent him past the scrapbook store on his way home to get me some tape and he went scavenging through the dollar bin on the counter at the check out! OMG!!! He has seriously spent way to much time with me to pick up this habit! He has never done this before and never shown an interest at all my little bits and pieces so this is a big thing in my books for him.  He comments on my cards and all that jazz as husbands are meant to do, but to actually take an interest and buy stuff off his own back that is not on 'the list', well that is above and beyond his call of duty lol.

He got me a packet of some gorgeous little 'cat bells', a small clear stamp from Hot Off The Press (the Just a Note set), and some so yummy pink and brown glass beads.  I won't say I quizzed him on why he brought what he did, but I sure did try and understand the mans thinking as everything he brought was exactly what I would have brought and for the same intentions I would have brought it for too!  I did learn a very valuable lesson in this though, while he may not show that he takes an interest in what I spend my free time on, he certainly does take notice :)

Everything he brought along with those too cute little bells just rang Christmas in my ears!  With the weather freezing here (and it is! as Ben officially got his track pants out of the closet last night) and working on a theory that if I don't use the stuff he brought me he may never buy me anything off the cuff again! I thought what better time than to play along with a few challenges that really caught my eye this week and I am dying to get crafty and play along too!

So while my blog is looking like a Christmas Winter Wonderland with all these Christmas cards, I have another one to add lol :P

The front.
 Close up of the bell(s)
Pop up view of the bell.
 The inside.
The back.
And back to the front again.

The image is actually a FREEBIE and is a Christmas Coloring page that I got from HERE :$  I have lots of this stuff stashed on my computer for the kids to play with.  And yes, I would be one of the kids in this case lol.  The lines are a little thick but it is a gorgeous Christmas bell and I could not resit playing with it.  Jingle Bell Rock was ringing in my ears so I typed up the lyrics and used this as the sentiment along the top above the stamped music sheet that is from my new Hot Off The Press set from hubby.

I've colored with Spectrum Noirs and TH Distress Inks and the bow I have added sparkle to with Stampin' Up's Dazzling Diamonds (so love that stuff!).  I printed the image a few times so I could make parts of the bell really pop out as well, and I added some of Ben's new bells too.  The pins are also from the new Ben stash so I covered all the bases with what he brought :))

Now the challenges that caught my eye -
Christmas Crafting -  #10 Gingham Christmas - Now this challenge really got my attention as I don't usually 'Gingham' for Christmas or any time of the year :$  So my gingham stash is pretty limited so I hope the pink DP from Raspberry Road Designs - Raspberry Jam Papers collection is enough. Also have a GDT call ATM.
ABC Christmas Challenge - H for Hardware and are asking for anything metal.  I covered my bases on this with the bells and the pins.
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge -  Is having a 'Sing Song' so I am rocking to the jingle bells rock and also added the music script stamp.
Christmas Inspirations - Are playing Bingo!  I matched a line with Digi Stamp, Distress and Layers and possibly another with Digi Stamp, Sentiment (if you count the Jingle Bell Rock lyrics) and Glitter.
Christmas Card Challenges - Twine - Now this stuff is really hard to find in Perth so I used my trusty kitchen twine I use to sew up the chicken when making roasts :$ Hey it works! So I am not knocking it lol. They also have a DT and GDT call on ATM if anyone is interested.
Chrasima Cardz Challenges - Shabby Chic - How could I NOT resist the temptation to play along ??? lol
Crafts and Me Challenges - Vintage - Again how could I not resist?
My Mum's Craft Shop - Fav Song or Movie - Still doing the Jingle Bell Rock :)

Well I think that is it for me,
So thank you very much for dropping in to see me.
Being Friday, I hope you all have a great crafty weekend :)

Christmas in April ??? @ Moving Along With The Times

Good Morning Folks :)

It's time for a new challenge at

This week it is the Honey Hazels turn to pick the challenge and she was thinking ...
Christmas in April ?

Lucky for me I love Christmas no matter what time of the year and grabbed the challenge with both hands and ran with it!  I did get a few strange looks from hubby this week as I kept emerging from my craft room singing "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know" pmsl!  All good though as I think it really helped to get those festive season creative juices flowing.

The lovely folks from Bugaboo Stamps are sponsoring this challenge :)
They also gave the DT some adorable images to play with
and I could not resist using Baby Christmas.
The prize they have so kindly offered is ...
A HUGE SEVEN images ! That is $21 worth!
Thank you Bugaboo Stamps!

My card this week is pretty much self explanatory with what I did.  I kept with the vintage shabby style I love to create, used my Spotty Dotty embossing folder and ink distressed the papers, stitched in red and green around each of the  layers, added a gorgeous bow and some flowers from my stash.  All the supplies in this are from my scraps bucket right down to the matt layers that are actually white card stock that I have colored with Spectrum Noir pens.

Gorgeous Baby Christmas I have colored with Spectrum Noir pens, added some glitter to his jingle jangle hat and I toiled him up in layers with some foam tape to really make him pop out of the card.  I think he maybe a unisex image but I think he looks like a boy to me :$  Wow here I am debating the sex of a digital image :$ I so do have to stop drinking so much coffee lol

Anyways, Hazel, the girls and I would all love you all to play along with us this week.
Pop on over, let the girls get you in the festive season with their too gorgeous inspirations and get in that craft room of yours and link up your creation with us!

I hope you like what you see today and thanks for dropping in on me :)
