GDT @ Pile It On with Challenge #14 - Romantic & Fancy

Welcome April and another month closer to Christmas again.

That was about my reaction & in order. lol 

I have been told I am the queen of finding challenges so I should fit right in at home :)

 

So ... without further ado lets get to the juicy bits!

This weeks challenge at

is ...

#14 Romantic & Fancy

This is what Ms Mojo and I came up with.

 (Forgive the editing of the name in the photos, this card is going to someone dear and I know they peak in on me and I really want it to be a surprise for them when they get it).

A romantic idea for me is my favorite color mix, so none other than pink and chocolate with the added touch of roses.  Fancy ... well I take that as a little fussy so I had to really stop myself from going way OTT on this one with all the details!  (I still could have kept adding but told myself enough was enough).

The image on the front is a freebie I have picked up along the way from Art Freebies (I think, I'm pretty sure it was from there) and it is called Pink Roses.  Also on the front I have added some faux vintage buttons , some bling for both flower centers, a beautiful metal butterfly with a long ribbon flowing tail, the pink lace along the bottom, the white above it that I have also threaded with some baby pink ribbon and the hot pink leaves under the vintage bloom I have cut from some fancy decorative lace.  Lots of lace and ribbon ... Yummy! .  .  And on all the pieces from front to back I have hand-stitched a zigzag border.

On the inside with the pocket I have added another bloom and this time went for a spray of butterfly's that I have attached to wire.  I love how they move and 'flutter' when you open the card.  The image on the pocket is a sneakie peak of an upcoming release from The Crafty Pad.  The butterfly at the top of my message is a peal off that I have colored, attached to acetate and then glittered the wings.  Through out the card I have featured a touch of pearls and used glimmer mist on some items, such as the heart punch flower on the front.

As I wanted to make the card really special, on the back along with my handmade message I have edited to include the recipients name, I find this is a really nice touch to add to cards that I know the home they are going to.  I love how well this card has finished.  lol And if it wasn't addressed to anyone  this one would be staying in my 'to pretty to send stash' :)
