Little Miss Emilie in Distress - Recycled Picture Frame

This is my Christmas gift I made for my dearest sister, Aunty Ree.  The frame is recycled from an old photo frame that the glass broke in.  It was an ugly colour blue so I painted it with purple, gave it a coat of crackle finish and then went over the top in white to give the beautiful crackled, distressed finish.

I used a staple gun to adhere the chicken wire mess to the back of the frame, added some paper flowers and the butterfly that I handmade and distressed, along with the sentiment.  I added some scrap lace around the border and tied a string of beads on fishing line to make the pearl swirl.  The image is Gingerloft Fairy with wand that I have embossed several times with clear emboss powder and then when dry I twisted it to give a shattered glass look to to keep the distress look flowing.  And I added the gorgeous purple bow to finish the piece.
